In 1978 he was born in Rishiri, the northernmost island of Japan where neither bears nor cockroaches live.
Totally disappointed with his hometown where tons of newspapers were delivered after the ship had been canceled for two weeks, he moved to Sapporo to go high school there.After a short while he found out that Sapporo is no metropolis at all and decided to go to Shibuya, very middle in Tokyo and entered Aoyama Gakuin University.
However, his campus was in Atsugi, very far away from his dormitory in Omote- Sando.Having spent intensive time at the very strict dormitory he graduated from the university without dropping out.
He joined Colorkrew in 2002. However, he at first did not like the company at all, but he changed his mind and loved his tasks after he made friends and got used to being there.Since 2010 he has been in charge of building the “spirit, mission, vision” of the company and designing of “Goalous”, a service product which supports an organization to bring lasting success.
Sometimes he is called a thinker, philosopher or fool. By all means he is interested in essential discussions that will exceed uncomfortable discrimination. Besides, he thinks that the rules should be followed.
He also believes that freedom of speech is the minimum right for human beings as animals.
He seems to believe it is cool to break the principles and create new ones.
Produce the greatest service on the earth.
I am responsible for producing and providing a service called Goalous, a tool “for bringing lasting success toward a meaningful goal thorough joyful communication”.
On Goalous you can make your project goal public and share your activity to achieve it by posting the pictures shortly. Always being aware of your purpose you can proceed your project with fun. This is the service Goalous provides.
I want to make Goalous the greatest service on the earth.
“Great” means to make human being more creative.
I think it is the most valuable for an organization to support the people to go forward to their goal by helping each other with high motivation while they feel happy, pleased, relaxed, refreshed and proud.
To make Goalous the greatest service on the earth I formulated a hypothesis; What kind of organization could be the target? What kind of experience should we offer? With what functions and in what interface should we offer it? Then I improve the product to enhance its quality by “KAIZEN”, a service designing.
Besides, as my responsibility as product owner, I set up an environment which gives priority to the creation of visions and values.
Being perfect step by step
I assume since 2003 the terms such as “Lean” or “Agile” are getting popular among management and software market.
In my opinion there is a principle that the “scientific” approaching is the most rational way under any circumstances. I mean the process where you “formulate a hypothesis” and make a “verification” by “testing”.
As for software developing, its essential is “to create a perfect product without any waste”.
At the same time, the software should be developed step by step to be lean.
If you firstly plan the whole program, in most cases you will not able to change afterwards due to mistakes or your personal attachment to the first plan.
What you have is nothing else than a hypothesis before testing, and from the scientific point of view it is impossible to enlarge the volume of the hypothesis.
The object must be as simple as possible.
The principle of our team is “Have a big dream and develop a small product”.
Having a big vision to keep us highly motivated, we develop a small product for sure. Of course, it is important to be fast with developing, but by being perfectly lean, we can come close to waste-free.
Besides, I think it covers not only software developing.
Be yourself
After a short while I joined Colorkrew, I had the following experience:
I was simply a young programmer at that time. One day, I was asked to deliver something like HDD to a customer. A simple task. Apparently, the customer was not happy with me wearing short trousers and sandals.
He called us; “Ring, ring…”
The manager of the developing department at that time took the call.
In fact, I was partly aware of the contents of the telephone conversation which made me feel ashamed. Then the manager turned to me and said;
“He complained about you, but never mind. On the contrary I blamed him. Just be yourself.”
I was 100% sure he will blame me since he did it very often. Nevertheless, he did not scold me at that time.
Deeply impressed by his attitude, I realized it was my fault with the customer. At the same time I found out that your appearance or motivation can be influenced extraordinary by only some words you received.
Since then I have been thinking about “being myself” quite often. Finally, I am convinced that you cannot change yourself under any circumstances. The others blaming and complaining about you or the education you received in the past don’t matter.
Justifying yourself all the time is stupid, but essentially speaking you are requested must to do your best to bring your capacity.
When I am in trouble, I want to believe that everything will go well and go with my gut.
Our message to you
If you feel ugly such like “I don’t like it” or “The level is not high enough”, you’d better stop and think it through.
Don’t repeat your statement mixing it with the ugly story as I usually do.
If you don’t accept the stimulation which can exceed the room of your comfort, you will never see anything new.
What you cannot see, you will never see in your life. You will go into your shell all the time.Sometimes you have to break out of your shell and you have to see what you don’t want to see.
If possible, you don’t want to stay where you were yesterday, do you?
You want to change your mind as many as possible, don’t you?
Because it is great to develop yourself and find something new all the time.
Besides, I will respect and accept the ideas which build the coming generation.
Hence I admire the sense of twenties who will in charge of creating the next era.
I would say, the old people over thirty should stay mum. Don’t speak too much as if they knew the world.
Since I myself belong to old generation, I will take care that I will not show off what I did in the past and
